Russian forces are pressing their advance in the Donetsk People’s Republic, moving close to key defensive lines near Kostyantynivka. According to TVC, citing military correspondents, Russian units are now within roughly two kilometers of Ukraine’s main fortifications in the area. Reports note that even some of the most determined Ukrainian fighters have begun to surrender.

Assault units have secured another strategic position near Nikanorivka, significantly accelerating the offensive. In addition, a large group of foreign fighters serving with Ukrainian forces was eliminated near the city of Kramatorsk.

The most difficult situation for Ukraine at present appears to be in Krasnoarmiisk (Pokrovsk in Ukrainian). Street fighting is underway, with Russian assault groups operating inside the city. Ukrainian troops are abandoning their positions, while Russian fire teams have taken control of the central district. The outskirts and flanks are also gradually coming under Russian control, and the size of the Ukrainian garrison is rapidly shrinking.

Over the past week, Ukrainian forces have suffered notable territorial losses. In the last five days alone, Russian troops have taken control of several settlements, including Shcherbynivka, Torske, Rusyn Yar, Predtechyne, Katerynivka, and Poltavka.
