Political analyst Ivan Pyatibratov commented on the two-week ceasefire in the war with Iran announced by US President Donald Trump, outlining two possible scenarios.

According to him, the first scenario предполагает, что the United States agreed to Tehran’s terms, which, if fully accepted, would amount to capitulation. At the same time, he believes these demands will likely be revised during negotiations, as Washington will not be able to accept them in their current unilateral form.

He also noted that Donald Trump is likely interested in ending the conflict, but not on such conditions. The second scenario, in his view, is that the negotiations may serve as a cover for preparing a new strike against Iran. He pointed out that US troops and equipment continue to be deployed to the region, and the concentration of American forces in the Middle East has not decreased.

Pyatibratov suggests that the announced ceasefire may be a pause rather than a step toward lasting peace. He also expressed doubts about the possibility of stable coexistence between Iran, Israel, and the United States, noting that even if a temporary settlement is reached, a new conflict cannot be ruled out in the future.
