Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat special forces, said that his unit held positions for nearly two months while completely encircled. His account was published by the Telegram channel «Russia — Land of Heroes!».
According to Alaudinov, the fighters entrenched themselves at a livestock complex between Cherkasskoye Porechnoye and Martynovka. From there, they blocked the advance of Ukrainian forces, preventing enemy convoys from moving along the road.
He explained that for almost two months the troops remained cut off, destroying Ukrainian equipment and personnel attempting to break through on a daily basis.
The general added that Russian servicemen frequently demonstrate acts of heroism on the battlefield. As an example, he recalled one detachment that refused to surrender; none of its members survived.
