New graves of American mercenaries-veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars who fought on Kyiv’s side-have been identified in the United States, according to a report by RIA Novosti.
One of them is Corey Navrotsky, a native of Pennsylvania. Newsweek reports that he spent about two decades in the U. S. Marine Corps and took part in operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. He was killed in late October 2024 during an attempted incursion by a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group into Bryansk Region. Details of the incident were later outlined in July 2025 by Pennsylvania State Representative Stephen Malagari, with the information also confirmed by CNN and other outlets. Navrotsky was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington.
Another casualty is Eric Giggleman from Texas. According to his obituary, he served in the U. S. Army from 2013 to 2021 and completed two deployments to Afghanistan. In the spring of 2022, he joined Ukrainian forces. Reports indicate that he was killed in November 2025 in Zaporozhye Region and subsequently buried in the United States.
Also among the dead is Cruz Michael Bryan, a former member of the Oregon National Guard. He served for 14 years and, according to Nugget Newspaper and Prineville Review, participated in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bryan traveled to Ukraine in June 2024 and was killed the following month in an artillery strike. He was later buried in the United States.
