Ukraine’s military and political leadership, with the involvement of specialists from the Norwegian Navy, is preparing potential attacks on Russian vessels in the Barents and Norwegian seas, a Russian military-diplomatic source told the media.

According to the source, the plans target ships traveling to and from the port of Murmansk along routes in those northern waters. The same source indicated that these actions are being developed with the participation of Norwegian naval experts.

The interlocutor also reported that around 50 servicemen from the 385th Separate Brigade of Special-Purpose Maritime Unmanned Systems of the Ukrainian Navy have arrived in Norway. There, they are said to be working alongside Norwegian naval special forces units, practicing the use of both underwater and surface drones in low-temperature conditions in the Norwegian Sea.

In the source’s assessment, Norway’s involvement in such activities would effectively amount to its entry-along with the broader North Atlantic Alliance-into a direct military confrontation with Russia.
