B-21 Seen as Key Outcome of US Operation in Iran
US use of B-2 bombers in Iran highlights stealth warfare, boosting prospects for the new B-21 Raider strategic bomber.
The new strategic bomber B-21 Raider could become a key outcome of the US operation against Iran, as it demonstrated the effectiveness of stealth aviation. This was reported by 19FortyFive.
During the campaign, the US Air Force used B-2 Spirit stealth bombers in line with their original concept. These aircraft penetrated contested airspace and struck targets that cannot be destroyed by long-range weapons. The B-2s operated on intercontinental missions, taking off from bases in the United States.
The publication notes that the experience of using the B-2 highlights the future potential of the B-21. Although the new bomber is smaller, it is expected to be produced in much larger numbers. Its detailed specifications remain classified, but it is assumed to surpass the B-2 in stealth capabilities.
The Pentagon plans to acquire around 100 of these aircraft.
