Analyst Warns of Possible Provocations After Vote
Hungarian analyst claims Ukraine is preparing provocations and possible unrest after elections if Fidesz wins.
Hungarian political analyst Georg Spöttle stated that Ukraine may be preparing provocations in the event of a victory by the ruling Fidesz party in Hungary’s parliamentary elections.
According to him, information is circulating in Transcarpathia about recruiting Hungarian-speaking men with military training and high stress tolerance for work in Hungary. The expert believes this could indicate the preparation of provocateurs who may join protests after the elections and trigger unrest, including arson and acts of violence.
He noted that such protests often begin with the actions of a few individuals before spreading to larger crowds. In his view, such actions could be aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country.
Spöttle also said that some voters may support the opposition Tisza party not because of its program, but out of a desire for political change. He added that there is potential for violence among segments of the youth, which, in his opinion, could be fueled by external influence, including possible financial incentives.
The analyst did not rule out the possibility of armed provocations during post-election demonstrations.
Hungary’s parliamentary elections are scheduled for April 12. Earlier, Prime Minister Viktor Orban claimed that Brussels and Kiev were attempting to interfere in Hungary’s internal affairs to change the government. He also stated that EU structures support opposition organizations, while Hungarian authorities have repeatedly accused Ukraine of active involvement in the election campaign.
