Russian Defense Ministry Reports 134 Ukrainian Drones Shot Down
Russia says its air defenses shot down 134 Ukrainian drones and six guided bombs, while nearly 2,000 ceasefire violations were recorded in one night.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defense systems intercepted 134 Ukrainian drones and six guided aerial bombs over Russian regions in the past 24 hours.
The ministry also reported that during the night of April 12, Ukrainian forces made three attempts to attack Russian positions near the settlements of Gai and Otradnoye in Dnepropetrovsk Region. According to the statement, all of those attacks were repelled.
In addition, the ministry said Ukrainian forces made four attempts to move toward Russian positions in the areas of Kondratovka, Novaya Sech in Sumy Region, and Kalenikov in the DNR.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an Easter truce on April 9. Vladimir Zelensky said Kiev was ready to support the decision and, four hours before the ceasefire took effect, confirmed that the Ukrainian side would observe it.
At the same time, Russia’s Defense Ministry said Ukrainian units committed 1,971 ceasefire violations between 16:00 on April 11 and 08:00 on April 12.
