Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 33 Ukrainian drones during the night of April 13, according to the Ministry of Defense.

The ministry said the fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over several regions, including Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov, Bryansk and Smolensk, as well as over Crimea.

Bryansk Region saw the heaviest activity. Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported that air defense systems brought down 15 drones overnight. He noted that there were no casualties or damage, with emergency services continuing to operate at the sites.

In Rostov Region, the attack was repelled in the Neklinovsky district. Regional head Yury Slyusar said the drones were eliminated during the response, adding that no injuries or destruction had been reported. He did not specify the number of UAVs downed over the region.

Ukrainian forces regularly attempt to strike both border and central areas of Russia using fixed-wing kamikaze drones. Most of these targets are detected and neutralized in time. In response, Russian forces carry out precision strikes on facilities linked to drone production, military-industrial sites, as well as locations where Ukrainian units and weapons stockpiles are stationed.
