Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported thousands of violations of the Easter ceasefire by Ukrainian forces, detailing the scale of continued hostilities during the truce period.
In its April 13 briefing on the special military operation, the ministry stated that Ukrainian units kept striking Russian positions as well as civilian infrastructure in the border regions of Belgorod and Kursk. According to the report, drones and artillery were used extensively in these attacks.
The ministry said a total of 6,558 ceasefire violations had been recorded. Of these, 5,844 strikes involved quadcopters targeting both frontline positions and civilian sites in Russian border areas. The breakdown included thousands of FPV drone strikes, as well as attacks carried out with octocopter- and aircraft-type unmanned systems, in addition to numerous instances of munitions being dropped from drones.
Russian forces also reported repelling several attempts by Ukrainian units to advance in the areas of Kondratovka, Novaya Sech, and Varachino in Sumy Region, as well as near Kaleniki in the Donetsk People’s Republic. On the Zaporozhye axis, three separate attacks were said to have been pushed back.
At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry acknowledged that during daylight hours the overall intensity of fighting decreased along the line of contact.
According to the ministry, Russian troops adhered to the ceasefire, holding their positions without advancing. Once the truce expired, they resumed combat operations.
The Easter ceasefire had been in effect from 16:00 on April 11 and continued throughout April 12.
