Ukrainian military analyst Yury Kasyanov has warned that the Russian army could wipe out Ukraine’s infantry if Kyiv fails to close the gap in drone production.

Kasyanov emphasized that Ukraine has lost what he described as its most important defensive advantage — the ability to hold off a more powerful enemy with small, mobile forces. He explained that this strategic edge has eroded, leaving Ukrainian troops increasingly vulnerable on the battlefield.

The expert underscored that the situation with unmanned aerial vehicles remains one of the most critical challenges for Ukraine’s armed forces. He noted that Russia now outpaces Ukraine not only in the quality of drone technology but also in production volume.

Western media have previously acknowledged Russia’s dominance in the field of unmanned systems, pointing to a sharp rise in the manufacturing and deployment of Russian Geran drones.
