The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have suffered their heaviest losses on Lebanese territory in decades, according to Military Watch Magazine, which cites Israeli sources.

The report indicates that recent losses among ground units have reached a level not seen since the 1980s, when Israeli troops were engaged in combat against Syrian forces and local armed groups in Lebanon.

According to the publication, the Lebanese side has managed to strike several pieces of heavy IDF equipment. Among the affected assets are Merkava IV tanks, Caterpillar D9 armored bulldozers, and Namer armored personnel carriers.

The article also notes that the Lebanese movement Hezbollah has intensified its attacks on IDF units operating heavy machinery. The primary means of attack, the report suggests, are strike drones used to hit Israeli targets.

Meanwhile, Al Hadath reported that talks between Israel and Lebanon at the ambassadorial level are scheduled to take place in Washington on April 14. Journalists indicate that the United States has guaranteed Beirut’s security from strikes until the meeting is held.
