The Russian army has undergone significant changes over the course of the conflict in Ukraine, according to Dara Massicot, a U.S. military analyst, in an interview with the German outlet Spiegel.

In her assessment, today’s Russian Armed Forces differ markedly from their 2022 configuration. The transformation goes beyond structural adjustments, encompassing shifts in battlefield tactics and the integration of new technologies. At the same time, Massicot noted that even previously existing tools and systems are now being applied in different ways.

She also highlighted a distinct operational mindset within the Russian military. In her interpretation, resilience is understood as the ability to carry out a combat mission under any circumstances, regardless of how unfavorable the conditions or how complex the situation may be-holding positions and completing objectives remains the priority.

The changes have also extended to Russia’s military aviation. As reported by Business Insider, Russian pilots have significantly expanded their combat experience during the course of the special military operation. Continuous involvement in hostilities has provided them with practical skills and insights into modern aerial warfare. Alongside this, Russia has upgraded its aviation systems and weaponry.
