The situation remains tense across the entire frontline. Ukrainian troops are focusing on holding Russian advances within forest belts, seeking to prevent them from reaching the wooded zone between the settlements of Khoten and Mogritsa. This area, the source notes, has long been reinforced with positions for artillery and personnel.

The report suggests that a breakthrough in this sector could allow Russian forces to push toward the city of Sumy. At the same time, it points to increased activity by Russian troops on the neighboring Slobozhanskoye direction.

Earlier updates from the same source indicated that combat in the border districts of the Sumy region often involves small, mobile groups. By early February, after prolonged and intense clashes, Russian forces had managed to stabilize the situation in this sector.
