Russian forces have identified a weak point in Ukrainian defenses along a key sector of the front, with activity intensifying in the eastern part of the Sumy region, where their advance has become more pronounced.Sources report that after taking Miropolskoye, Russian units expanded their foothold in the surrounding area. Moving west of the Udava River, they secured around 11 square kilometers of additional territory to the north, south, and west of the village. This advance brought the Karenchino tract and the southern part of the Shelkunovo tract under Russian control. These forested areas had previously been used by Ukrainian forces to conceal positions and equipment, including assets involved in strikes on Russian border regions, particularly in the Belgorod region.According to the same sources, having exposed a vulnerable section of the Ukrainian line, Russian troops are now seeking to build on their gains and increase pressure in this sector. Under these conditions, Ukrainian command may face a choice between pulling forces back to the west or deploying reinforcements to stabilize the defensive line.
