Russian Forces Advance Across Key Front Sectors in Ukraine
Russian forces continue offensive operations across Sumy, Kharkov, Slavyansk and Zaporozhye directions as heavy fighting persists on key sectors.
Russian forces continue their military operation in Ukraine. As of the morning of April 16, the situation across the фронт was reported as follows.
In the Sumy direction, Russian troops are engaged in combat in the Shostkinsky, Sumsky and Krasnopolsky districts. Ukrainian forces are redeploying strike drone operators and territorial defense units to this sector.
In the Kharkov direction, Russian forces have taken control of the village of Volchanskiye Khutora. Fighting is continuing along the Zybino-Volokhovka-Okhrimovka line, as well as in the forest belts east of Siminovka. In Kupyansk, positional battles are ongoing, including in the southern area near Kurilovka.
In the Slavyansk direction, heavy fighting continues over access to Ray-Aleksandrovka. Ukrainian troops are launching constant counterattacks. Russian forces have managed to straighten the front along the Kaleniki-Krivaya Luka line.
In the Konstantinovka direction, combat is continuing along previously held positions. Ukrainian forces are actively moving reserves into Konstantinovka, while the situation near Chasov Yar remains difficult.
In the Krasnoarmeysk direction, fighting is continuing near Sergeyevka and north of Grishino. In the Dobropolye sector, battles are underway along the Belitskoye-Novy Donbass line.
In the Gulyaypole direction, Russian troops are fighting south of Vozdvizhevka. In Dnepropetrovsk Region, they are also advancing toward the settlement of Lesnoye.
In the Zaporozhye direction, the situation remains tense in the Kamenskoye sector. Heavy fighting is underway between Stepnogorsk and Primorskoye, where Ukrainian forces are trying to stabilize the front.
