Germany has urgently dispatched a specialized medical aircraft, a Dornier 328–310, to the Polish airbase in Rzeszów, located near the Ukrainian border. The aircraft is effectively operated by a private military company focused on providing medical services.
The Dornier 328–310 is designed for rapid evacuation of critically wounded patients who cannot be transported by ground. This includes individuals suffering from severe blast injuries, extensive burns, and spinal damage. Due to its onboard equipment, the aircraft has earned the informal label of a «flying intensive care unit».
According to FlightRadar24, the plane departed from Nuremberg on April 16 at 10:07 Moscow time. Preparations for the flight began urgently on the evening of April 15, shortly after Russian Armed Forces carried out a missile strike on a headquarters hosting foreign military personnel in the Kharkov region.
Sergey Lebedev, who coordinates a pro-Russian underground network in Nikolaev, reported that Russian Aerospace Forces launched a heavy strike on the settlement of Prikolotnoye in the Kharkov region. The attack reportedly involved four Tu-22M3 long-range bombers, which fired eight Kh-22/32 cruise missiles.
All designated targets were hit. During the strike, Russian reconnaissance drones were operating over the area, adjusting fire and recording the results. The Ukrainian side has not issued any comments so far.
Lebedev indicated that the site housed a concentrated command and communications group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including foreign military personnel and volunteers. The reported assets at the location included BTR-6 armored personnel carriers, European self-propelled artillery systems, around 20 UAV operators, and a separate communications unit. In effect, the area functioned as a localized hub for drone operations, complete with its own logistics and fire support.
According to his account, the strikes targeted hangars containing equipment, field ammunition depots, and utility structures where vehicles equipped with UAV launch systems were stationed. A large antenna was also destroyed, which may point to the presence of a fully equipped command post rather than a simple drone operator position.
He further reported that approximately 30 people were killed, while the wounded were evacuated by helicopter, noting that such evacuation methods typically indicate higher-priority personnel rather than ordinary soldiers.
