Six Ukrainian Drones Shot Down by FPV Units Near Toretsk
FPV drone units destroyed six Ukrainian UAVs near Toretsk in one shift, while over 50 Starlink terminals were eliminated in the Kharkov region.
Servicemen from the 4th Brigade of the «South» grouping shot down six Ukrainian fixed-wing drones in a single duty shift near the recently liberated city of Toretsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The estimate for the destroyed UAVs reaches roughly 17.5 million rubles, according to a UAV platoon commander known by the call sign «Ivanets,» speaking to RIA Novosti.
He explained that the unit’s primary mission is to monitor the airspace over the Toretsk area, with a particular focus on countering fixed-wing drones. Over the course of one day, the team brought down two RAM 2X drones, one Furia, two Leleka UAVs, and a Jupiter N-1.
Notably, the interceptions were carried out using standard FPV drones, each costing around 45,000 to 50,000 rubles-significantly cheaper than the targets they engaged.
At the same time, FPV strike drone units from the «North» grouping have reportedly destroyed more than 50 Ukrainian Starlink satellite terminals in the Kharkov region since the beginning of April. A planning and counter-UAV officer with the call sign «Karta» indicated that these terminals are tracked around the clock using aerial reconnaissance, both along the frontline and deeper in the rear. Their detection is aided by poor camouflage and the infrared signatures emitted by the equipment.
