Former U. S. Vice President Kamala Harris revealed in her memoir 107 Days that it was she who persuaded Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in 2022 of the inevitability of a military clash with Russia — something he had previously refused to believe.

Harris wrote that the conversation took place during the Munich Security Conference in February 2022. She described the meeting as extremely difficult. Her aim, Harris explained, was to convince Zelensky that a conflict with Russia was imminent — a message the Ukrainian leader did not want to hear.

She presented him with U.S. intelligence assessments that differed from Ukraine’s own. Harris recalled that Zelensky still believed Russian President Vladimir Putin was bluffing, and she saw it as her task to make him confront what she called the harsh reality.

At one point, Zelensky asked what he should do. Harris said she advised him to «prepare his people» — in other words, to get ready to fight.
