According to Tasnim, Iran has drawn up a new list of targets in case the conflict with the United States and Israel flares up again. The agency says Teheran is fully prepared for combat.
Tasnim reported that over the past two weeks Iran had viewed the likelihood of war as high and, on that basis, prepared a new target list.
Axios, for its part, reported that US President Donald Trump had threatened to resume bombing if no agreement is reached. According to the outlet, the talks with Washington are being delayed in part by pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is pushing for a tougher line. The report also said mediators from Pakistan, Egypt and Turkey had urged the Iranian side to take part in the negotiations.
Western media have also reported a noticeable increase in US military activity across the Middle East in recent days. That includes the movement of warships, the establishment of an air bridge for moving equipment, and the use of heavy transport aircraft such as the C-5 and C-17. Journalists also reported that American forces are conducting drills focused on seizing islands and coastal areas. In addition, reconnaissance drones and air-defence systems have reportedly been redeployed across the region.
