On the night of April 22, Russian forces struck targets in Odessa, with drone attacks aimed at port infrastructure.

According to Strana.ua, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksey Kuleba said the strikes triggered fires and damaged berths, warehouse facilities, railway infrastructure and assets belonging to port operators.

Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian underground, said six explosions were recorded in the Odessa region. In his account, the strikes hit port infrastructure, distribution and logistics hubs, as well as air defence positions. He also said one of the strikes hit a ship that was in the port.

Lebedev argued that Odessa is gradually emerging as a separate direction of Russian strikes. He linked that to attempts to disrupt the logistics of Western weapons deliveries and to identify and weaken Ukraine’s air defence system.

Earlier, on April 16, the Russian Defence Ministry reported a large-scale strike on targets across Ukraine. The ministry said the attack involved long-range weapons launched from land, air and sea platforms.
