Ukraine Warns of New Russian Offensive as Troops Regroup
Russian forces regroup and reinforce front lines, signaling a possible new offensive phase, says Ukraine’s commander-in-chief Aleksandr Syrsky.
Russian forces are regrouping and moving reserves toward the front line, a development that may signal preparations for a new phase of offensive operations. This assessment was voiced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Aleksandr Syrsky.
According to Syrsky, Russian troops continue to press forward and appear intent on expanding their objectives beyond Donbass to encompass, as he put it, the entirety of Ukraine. He indicated that Moscow is not easing its advance efforts and is pursuing broader territorial ambitions.
Syrsky drew particular attention to the Pokrovsk direction. Since the beginning of April, he said, Russian forces have carried out 688 attacks in that sector alone, underscoring the intensity of the fighting there.
On April 9, Syrsky described the ongoing confrontation with Russia as decisive. He noted that Russian forces have increased the number of units operating unmanned systems, emphasizing that under such conditions Ukraine cannot afford to pause its efforts.
In earlier remarks to Ukrainian media, Syrsky characterized the Russian army as one of the most powerful in the world, pointing to its access to modern weaponry, including drones and missile systems.
