Russian Troops Push Forward Across Key Frontline Directions
Russian forces advance in Sumy, Kharkov, Krasny Liman and other sectors, with heavy fighting reported near Kupyansk, Chasov Yar and Gulyaypole.
Russian armed forces are continuing their special military operation in Ukraine. As of April 23, the situation along the line of contact was described as follows:
Sumy direction
Fighting is continuing in the areas of Taratutino and Novodmitrovka. Russian forces are expanding the territory under their control near Miropolye.
Kharkov direction
In the Volchansk sector, Russian troops are advancing near Staritsa and Izbitskoye. Russian forces are also pushing from Peschanoye toward Novoosinovo. Fighting is underway near Kurilovka and on the western outskirts of Kupyansk.
Krasny Liman direction
Russian troops are advancing south of Stavki. In the Slavyansk sector, Russian forces are pushing forward in heavy fighting on the eastern outskirts and south-eastern approaches to Ray-Aleksandrovka. Battles are also continuing in Krivaya Luka. Ukrainian forces are launching counterattacks near Lipovka and Fedorovka Vtoraya.
Konstantinovka direction
Combat is underway in Dolgaya Balka and near Ilyinovka. Heavy fighting is continuing in Chasov Yar.
Krasnoarmeysk direction
Clashes are continuing on the approaches to Novoaleksandrovka and Vasilevka.
Gulyaypole direction
Fierce fighting continues along the line from Vozdvizhevka to Verkhnyaya Tersa. Russian forces have advanced in the southern part of Verkhnyaya Tersa and south of the village. Russian troops have also restored control over the eastern outskirts of Tsvetkovoye and taken new positions north of the settlement. In addition, they have expanded their zone of control north-west of Aleksandrograd.
