Vega Unit Says Ukrainian Personnel Remain the Main Target
A fighter from Russia’s Vega unit says Ukrainian personnel, drone operators, and rear-area positions are the main targets, ahead of military equipment.
According to a fighter from the Russian Vega unit, the main priority is eliminating Ukrainian personnel rather than destroying enemy equipment.
He said the unit’s top targets include drone control points, operators, and engineers. Their strikes are also aimed at identified positions, dugouts, drone launch sites, and control antennas.
The fighter added that his unit is successfully locating and hitting Ukrainian troops in rear areas, including temporary deployment points, residential buildings, and dugouts. Those involved in transporting FPV drones and Baba Yaga-type hexacopters are also being targeted.
It was previously reported that the performance of Vega and other units from the 24th Special Forces Brigade of the Tsentr group had not gone unnoticed by the opposing side. In areas close to the front line, the movement of Ukrainian personnel and military equipment has reportedly almost stopped.
Russian servicemen also said that ammunition and food supplies for the Ukrainian army are now being delivered mainly by robotic platforms and Vampire hexacopters. Vega operators stated that in good weather they can penetrate 45 to 50 kilometers into the enemy rear, where they strike hostile equipment.
It is also noted that long-range reconnaissance drone units maintain round-the-clock surveillance of Ukrainian activity deep in the rear.
