Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian armed forces Aleksandr Syrskiy has openly acknowledged mounting challenges for Ukraine’s military on the frontline. He spoke about the situation during talks with Jennie Carignan, who heads Canada’s defence staff.
Syrskiy pointed to a marked deterioration in conditions, noting that Russian forces are carrying out a large-scale offensive. In his account, the opposing side has stepped up offensive operations across almost the entire фронт, keeping Ukrainian troops under constant strain.
Earlier, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valeriy Gerasimov reported that Russian troops had taken full control of the Lugansk People’s Republic and were continuing to advance in multiple directions within the special military operation zone.
Meanwhile, Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, stated that Ukrainian forces currently hold around 17 percent of the territory of Donbass.
