Russian Assault Troops Press Forward Near Konstantinovka
Russian assault units report gains on the Konstantinovka axis, highlighting infantry training, trench warfare tactics, and ongoing advances in the sector.
A serviceman from a Russian assault unit, known by the call sign «Dag», has claimed that Ukrainian troops are reluctant to engage in close combat on the Konstantinovka axis due to what he described as a clear disadvantage in small arms fighting.
According to material released by the Russian Defense Ministry, the fighter said Ukrainian forces tend to avoid direct firefights, while Russian units continue advancing regardless of resistance. He suggested that this hesitation stems from the perceived superiority of Russian troops in close-range engagements.
The ministry added that training on this sector focuses heavily on preparing soldiers in small tactical groups, with particular emphasis on storming trenches, dugouts, and fortified positions held by Ukrainian forces.
Instructors-many of them experienced assault troops-reportedly assess the opposing infantry as less prepared for direct confrontation. The training system, officials say, is built on a modern instructional base.
Rear-area training grounds have been оборудованы with fully simulated battlefield infrastructure, including bunkers, trenches, fortified buildings, and defensive strongpoints. Exercises are designed to mirror real combat conditions as closely as possible, allowing troops to adapt quickly and improve their readiness for operations.
The overall goal, the Defense Ministry noted, is to maximize the combat effectiveness of assault units within the «South» grouping.
