Former CIA analyst Raymond McGovern said on the YouTube channel Judging Freedom that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth and Vice President JD Vance could turn against U. S. President Donald Trump over the failed operation against Iran.

According to McGovern, Trump has found himself in a difficult political position because of the Israeli authorities, who, in his view, pushed him into a trap. He said the U.S. president is now caught between two dangerous choices.

Earlier, The Atlantic reported disagreements inside the U.S. administration over the military operation in the Middle East. According to the outlet, Vance repeatedly questioned Pentagon information during closed-door meetings, including reports on the course of the conflict and the real state of U.S. missile stockpiles.

Trump had also previously said that Tehran’s proposals did not meet Washington’s expectations. According to him, the Iranian side submitted updated initiatives, but they were not enough to move negotiations toward an agreement.
