Disassembled UAVs Brought Into Russia for Attacks on Industrial Facilities
Disassembled UAVs are smuggled into Russia and assembled locally for attacks on industrial sites, with sleeper cells involved, according to a Russian general.
Ukrainian UAVs may be brought into Russian territory in disassembled form using deceptive schemes and then used to strike industrial facilities, Hero of Russia Major General Sergey Lipovoy told NEWS.ru.
According to him, strikes on industrial sites near Perm could have been carried out by such drones, assembled inside Russia and launched from remote areas not covered by radar systems. He noted that this practice is used regularly: if drone capabilities allow launches from territories controlled by the AFU, they are deployed from there; if not, they are transported into Russia in parts under various pretexts.
Lipovoy added that such UAVs are handed over to so-called sleeper cells, which assemble and program them. He also stated that Russian security services regularly identify and detain those involved in such attacks, who face severe punishment, including life imprisonment.
Earlier, the Telegram channel SHOT reported a drone threat alert in the Sverdlovsk, Perm, and Chelyabinsk regions. Flight restrictions were introduced at airports in Orsk, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, and Perm. The Russian Ministry of Defense did not comment on this information.
