According to journalists from Politico, Vladimir Zelensky is preparing a «mega-deal» to purchase weapons from the United States. The report notes that the Ukrainian leader has provided U. S. President Donald Trump with a detailed list of armaments for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which includes long-range weapons.
Politico also reports that the total value of the tranche is estimated at around $90 billion. The Ukrainian delegation is expected to visit the United States in late September or early October for technical negotiations on arms procurement and a separate agreement on drone production.
Earlier, on September 24, Ukrainian media reported that Trump and Zelensky had discussed the possibility of Ukraine achieving victory in the conflict with Moscow with support from the European Union. At the same time, the reports noted that Trump did not mention any direct assistance from the United States.
