State Duma deputy Viktor Sobolev commented on statements about possible testing of Polish weapons in Ukraine. In an interview with Life.ru, he said that much will depend on whether these plans remain at the level of rhetoric or are implemented in practice.

According to him, if Poland begins supplying its weapons and testing them in combat conditions on Ukrainian territory, Russia will respond, including by striking the production facilities where such weapons are manufactured. If the statements remain purely declarative, he added, there will be no serious consequences.

Sobolev also referred to the historical context of relations between Poland and Russia, stating that Poland has repeatedly sought to participate in conflicts against Russia — from the Time of Troubles to the 1920 war. In his view, Poland is now acting within a broader European anti-Russian policy while taking an active position.

Earlier, Polish Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk stated that Warsaw intends to test weapons in real combat conditions in Ukraine.
