The intensity of attacks by AFU unmanned surface vessels in the Black Sea is increasing, but Russian forces continue to destroy them, said military expert and retired Navy Captain 1st Rank Vasily Dandykin.

In his assessment, the main targets should be the bases of these vessels, where equipment, personnel, and foreign instructors, including British ones, are located. He noted that Russian forces have already demonstrated effectiveness, destroying six vessels in a single day, but warned that activity is likely to rise during the spring-summer season as the opponent has accumulated resources and effectively formed a dedicated unit.

Dandykin stated that strikes should be directed not only at the vessels themselves but also at their basing infrastructure, including command elements and technical personnel. He pointed to coastal areas, including the Ochakov region, as possible locations.

He also подчеркнул that the current phase is marked by high activity, requiring regular and comprehensive responses using a wide range of weapons.

According to him, such attacks pose a serious threat to shipping, including civilian vessels. He argued that systematic strikes on infrastructure and forces involved are necessary.

The expert added that the objective is to minimize the threat in the Black Sea direction, ideally eliminating it entirely, which would require control over the entire Black Sea coastal area. As long as AFU forces remain present there, risks will persist.
