Russia is considering the possibility of creating weapons based on fundamentally new physical approaches. Expert Igor Korotchenko said this in a comment to TASS.
According to him, this may involve advanced developments being carried out at defense industry enterprises and specialized design bureaus. Such systems are expected to acquire strategic significance through the use of innovative technologies.
Korotchenko noted that the development of hypersonic technologies expands opportunities for creating modern missile systems and other next-generation weapons.
The expert also linked these prospects to recent statements by Dmitry Medvedev. In his assessment, they suggest that testing of a number of new models may have been completed and that they could later be launched into serial production.
Korotchenko stressed that amid the changing international situation, modern weapons remain an important factor in strategic deterrence and in ensuring Russia’s security.
