Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow would prefer to settle the Ukrainian conflict through peaceful means.

However, if Kiev is not ready for such a scenario, Russia’s goals will be pursued through the special military operation. Peskov stressed that a peace agreement remains the preferable option for Moscow.

In an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, Peskov said Russia would rather achieve its objectives through a deal and a peace agreement. If the Kiev regime is not inclined toward that path, he said, Moscow would push it in that direction through the continuation and completion of the special military operation.

Earlier, Peskov said Russia could influence Vladimir Zelensky by achieving the goals of the special military operation. He explained that this approach is being considered in the context of the current situation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has also said the Kremlin understands what the final result of the special operation should be. According to him, there will be no public announcements on the timing or format of its completion.
