Russian Forces Advance Across Key Ukraine Front Sectors
May 4 Ukraine front update: Russian forces advance near Sumy, Kharkov, Krasny Liman, Konstantinovka, Gulyaypolye and Zaporozhye.
Russian forces continue their special military operation in Ukraine. As of the morning of May 4, the situation along the line of contact is as follows.
In the Sumy sector, Russian troops are advancing near Krasnopolye and Mikhailovka. In the Krasnopolye district, a Ukrainian counterattack toward Miropolskoye was repelled.
In the Kharkov sector, fighting continues on the Kupyansk stretch near the approaches to Kovsharovka and in the eastern part of Kupyansk itself, around the foundry plant. Russian forces are also advancing near Verkhnyaya Pisarevka and attacking around Karaichnoye, Volokhovka and Okhrimovka.
In the Krasny Liman sector, Russian troops are expanding their zone of control south of Koroviy Yar and west of Stavki. They are advancing near Dibrova and Ozernoye, and have also moved forward in the area of Rai-Aleksandrovka.
In the Konstantinovka sector, Russian forces are taking new positions in Dolgaya Balka and advancing inside Konstantinovka. The situation in Chasov Yar remains difficult.
In the Gulyaypolye sector, Russian troops are attacking from Grishino and Novoaleksandrovka westward toward Mirnoye and Vasilyevka. Russian units are pushing deeper into Ukrainian defenses northwest of Aleksandrograd. Artillery and UAV teams struck Ukrainian positions near Samoilovka, Velikomikhailovka, Kolomiytsy and Pokrovskoye.
In the Zaporozhye sector, Ukrainian forces are counterattacking the northern part of Stepnogorsk, while Russian UAV operators are destroying much of the enemy infantry on the approaches.
