During the recent drone attack on Moscow, Ukrainian forces reportedly deployed long-range FP-1 drones, according to the Telegram channel «Arkhangel Spetsnaza». The channel notes that these drones have increasingly been used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces as carrier platforms for FPV drones, effectively serving as launch systems in combined strike tactics. This approach has already been observed in earlier operations, including attacks on Crimea and within the zone of the special military operation. In March 2026, reports indicated that FP-1 drones were also used in strikes targeting the Leningrad region. The FP-1 is described as having a length of about 3.5 meters and a range of up to 1,200 kilometers. The latest developments come against the backdrop of a large-scale drone assault overnight on May 4, when Russian air defense systems reportedly shot down more than 100 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions. One of the drones struck a building in western Moscow. Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said there were no casualties and no need to evacuate residents.
