According to representatives of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Operational Command «West», Ukrainian troops are building fortifications and laying minefields along the border with Pridnestrovie.

They said engineering defenses are being set up in border areas, along with new roads designed to support covert troop movements. The command explained that these efforts are aimed at improving maneuverability and logistics, ultimately allowing the creation of a layered defense system.

Ukrainian media have also reported ongoing engineering work in the Odessa Region. Residents have been informed about restrictions on vehicle movement along field roads leading to the state border, with the ban not applying to agricultural machinery.

At the same time, a local village council group suggested that the measures are also linked to a rise in attempts by draft evaders to leave Ukraine through the border with Pridnestrovie. The «West» command added that it is coordinating with local communities and preparing elements of national resistance.
