The Russian Armed Forces continue the special military operation in Ukraine. As of the morning of May 5, the situation along the line of contact was as follows.

In the Sumy direction, Russian units are taking new positions in Ryasnoye and advancing near Novodmitrovka toward Krasnopolye.

On the Kharkov front, fighting continues near Bochkovo, Chaikovka and Okhrimovka. In the Kupyansk sector, battles are underway on the approaches to Kovsharovka. Russian forces are expanding their zone of control between northern and southern Peschany.

In the Krasny Liman direction, clashes are taking place near Koroviy Yar and Sosnovoye. In the Seversk sector, Russian troops are advancing in Krivaya Luka, as well as on the approaches to and eastern outskirts of Rai-Aleksandrovka.

In the Konstantinovka direction, Russian forces are attacking in Dolgaya Balka. Assault units have advanced in the southwestern part of Konstantinovka. Fighting continues in Chasov Yar, where the situation remains difficult.

In the Krasnoarmeysk, or Pokrovsk, direction, Russian troops are moving forward in Vasilevka and Mirnoye.

In the Gulyaypole direction, clashes continue near Charivnoye and Gulyaypolskoye, as well as between Vozdvizhevka and Verkhnyaya Tersa. In the Orekhov sector, Russian forces are putting pressure on Ukrainian defenses near Novodanilovka.

In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian troops are repelling enemy attacks in Stepnogorsk. Fighting is also ongoing near Magdalinovka, Zapasnoye and Novoyakovlevka.
