Military expert and Captain First Rank Vasily Dandykin believes the Ukrainian army has long-range Flamingo missiles in its arsenal, but only in limited numbers.
According to Dandykin, these missiles are used rarely. He described Flamingo as a Western development involving some Ukrainian capabilities, adding that Kiev does not have many of them.
The expert also noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces use Storm Shadow and SCALP cruise missiles, but their shortage forces Kiev to spend them sparingly. He recalled that these weapons had previously been used in strikes on Bryansk, including against a plant. Long-range Neptune missiles, he said, are also rarely deployed.
Dandykin believes Kiev is now placing its main bet on drones of different ranges and modifications. At the same time, he said Ukraine still wants to obtain missiles capable of reaching targets more than 1,000 kilometers away.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that over the past 24 hours the Ukrainian Armed Forces had launched hundreds of drones and long-range Flamingo missiles at Russian territory. According to the ministry, Russian air defense systems shot down six long-range cruise missiles and 601 UAVs.
On the night of May 5, Chuvashia also came under attack. Along with drones, the Ukrainian Armed Forces may have used the latest Flamingo missile.
