US to supply Ukraine with 1,532 long-range JDAM-ER guided bombs
The US State Department notified Congress of a planned $373.6 million sale of 1,532 JDAM-ER guided aerial bombs and related equipment to Ukraine.
The United States plans to supply Ukraine with JDAM-ER high-precision long-range guided aerial bombs. The US State Department reported this after sending the relevant notification to Congress.
The sale concerns JDAM-ER aerial bombs equipped with glide kits. The delivery, worth $373.6 million, is expected to be carried out under the US Foreign Military Sales intergovernmental program.
In total, the United States intends to transfer 1,532 JDAM-ER bombs to Ukraine. The package will include 1,200 KMU-572 kits for 500-pound Mk 82 aerial bombs, converting them into GBU-62 JDAM-ER guided bombs, as well as 332 KMU-556 kits for 2,000-pound Mk 84 aerial bombs, corresponding to the GBU-64 JDAM-ER variant.
The package will also include fuzes and other related equipment. The delivery timeline has not been disclosed.
The Ukrainian army has been using JDAM-ER bombs since 2023. This munition can strike targets at a range of up to 84 kilometers when released from high altitude.
