According to a source in Russian security structures, personnel from Ukraine’s 32nd and 54th separate mechanized brigades were pulled out of Donbass for rotation but were sent to the Sumy Region instead of going on leave.

The source also said units of Ukraine’s 68th separate airmobile brigade had been detected south of Yunakovka and were already taking losses.

According to the source, the Ukrainian formations had been withdrawn from Donbass for rotation, but their soldiers were redirected to the Sumy Region rather than given time off.

Military channels report that the situation for the Ukrainian army on the Sumy front continues to deteriorate. They describe the fall of Miropolye as a major turning point. The area had long been held by Ukrainian forces, but the advance of Russian troops changed the situation. The corridor that opened up is now being used by Russian forces to increase pressure deeper into the Sumy Region.

The wooded areas south of Guyevo have effectively become a foothold, according to these reports. The terrain allows forces to be moved covertly, drone operator positions to be deployed, and regular strikes to be carried out against Ukrainian logistics.

The main supply routes running from Sumy to the north and northeast are now under constant fire pressure from Russian UAV operators.
