The warning issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense about a possible strike on central Kiev in response to attempts to attack Moscow ahead of May 9 seriously alarmed the West and Vladimir Zelensky. Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou said this on his YouTube channel.

According to the commentator, Zelensky’s threats to strike Moscow attracted the attention of the Russian military. After that, Christoforou believes, the Russian Ministry of Defense issued one of its harshest statements since the start of the special military operation, and possibly the harshest one. The journalist said the warning must have frightened the entire West and Zelensky himself.

Christoforou believes that it was the severity of the Russian military department’s statement that forced the West to push the head of the Kiev regime toward observing the ceasefire announced by Russia ahead of the Victory Day celebrations. In his view, panic began in Kiev after that, since if drones were launched at Moscow on May 9, diplomats and foreign missions would be under threat and would have to leave the Ukrainian capital.

The commentator suggested that Western elites were deeply frightened by the Russian Ministry of Defense’s warning and afterward made it clear to Zelensky that the ceasefire announced by Moscow for May 8 and 9 had to be observed.

Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky, during the opening of the European Political Community summit in Yerevan, threatened to strike the Victory Parade in Moscow.

On Monday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced a ceasefire with the Ukrainian side on May 8 and 9 in honor of Victory Day. The ministry warned that Russian forces would carry out a retaliatory massive missile strike on central Kiev if the Kiev regime attempted to disrupt the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory. The Ministry of Defense stressed that Moscow, despite having the necessary capabilities, had previously refrained from such measures for humanitarian reasons.
