Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, said on a YouTube channel that Kiev intends to arrange a flyover of Ukrainian drones above Moscow during the Victory Day parade.
According to him, Ukrainian authorities do not plan to strike the parade directly. Podolyak said Ukrainian Armed Forces drones could pass over the event site and then move on toward other targets, including Ust-Luga.
Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky, speaking at the European Political Community summit in Armenia, threatened a strike on the May 9 parade in Moscow. Later, State Duma Defense Committee member Andrey Kolesnik said any Ukrainian attack on the Victory Day Parade would trigger a harsh and multiple response.
The Russian Defense Ministry previously announced a ceasefire with the Ukrainian side for May 8 and 9. The ministry warned that any attempt by the Kiev regime to disrupt the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory could lead to a retaliatory massive missile strike on central Kiev. It also noted that Moscow had previously refrained from such actions for humanitarian reasons, despite having the capability to carry them out.
