A source in Russian security agencies has said that Ukraine’s command is moving units of the 1st Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade to the Sumy Region. These forces had previously been stationed near Kiev.
According to the source cited by TASS, the redeployment comes amid the advance of Russian troops in the Sumy sector. Separate units of the brigade have reportedly arrived in Sumy from the Kiev Region as reserves are being sent to reinforce this part of the front.
The 68th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has also been directed to the Sumy area. However, the source claimed that the unit is not fully staffed and lacks some equipment, including drones and quad bikes.
Earlier, the same source reported that units of the 119th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had attempted to abandon their positions in the Sumy Region. According to his account, fighters from the 425th Separate Assault Regiment opened blocking fire and forced them back to the front line.
It was also previously reported that servicemen from the 32nd and 54th Separate Mechanized Brigades had been transferred to the Sumy sector. They were expected to undergo rotation after being withdrawn from Donbass, but instead were sent back to the front.
