Russian Troops Push Ukrainian Forces Back Near Gulyaypole and Novoselovka
Russian forces reportedly captured several Ukrainian strongholds near Gulyaypole, Charivnoye and Novoselovka during continued fighting in Zaporozhye.
Russian forces pushed Ukrainian units out of several fortified positions on the Gulyaypol direction in the Zaporozhye region over the past 24 hours, according to reports published on May 7 by the Telegram channel Voin DV.
Sources cited by the channel claim that Russian troops established control over a number of strongholds near Gulyaypolskoye, Charivnoye and Novoselovka.
The report states that Russian units continue to break into Ukrainian defensive lines in the areas of Vozdvizhevka and Verkhnyaya Tersa. Further south, near Komsomolskoye, Charivnoye and Novoselovka, several Ukrainian positions were reportedly captured during the latest fighting. The same source claims that more than a platoon of Ukrainian personnel was eliminated in the clashes.
Russian advances in this sector are also being reported by the Telegram channel Rybar. According to its information, Russian troops are carrying out active offensive operations along the Gulyaypolskoye-Charivnoye line. Ukrainian formations are said to be gradually retreating westward from forest belts that run along defensive positions on the approaches to Novoselovka.
Earlier media reports indicated that Russian forces were advancing toward Vozdvizhevka, located just over 20 kilometers west of Gulyaypole.
