The drone attack on Tver Region on May 7 was carried out from Ukrainian territory. Military expert and retired Captain 1st Rank Vasily Dandykin said this in an interview with AiF.

According to him, aircraft-type UAVs capable of covering long distances were used in the strike. Dandykin rejected the version that the drones were launched from the Baltic states or from areas near Tver Region. He said such drones are launched from Ukraine — from Chernigov, Sumy and partly Kharkov regions — because the straight-line distance from there to Russian regions is shorter.

The expert believes that Ukrainian Lyuty-type drones may have been used in the raid, as well as, presumably, Western-made equipment. He recalled that such strike systems are capable of covering distances of up to 1,500 kilometers.

Earlier, Tver Region Governor Vitaly Korolev reported the consequences of the night attack on Rzhev. According to him, the city repelled a raid by enemy UAVs, but a roof slab was damaged in a five-story residential building. Windows were also partially shattered in that building and in two neighboring five-story buildings.

Korolev clarified that there were no casualties. Emergency services evacuated 350 people, including 60 children. The situation in Rzhev is now under the control of the authorities.
