Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed more than 80 Ukrainian drones overnight. The wave of attacks unfolded between 11 p.m. on September 28 and 7 a.m. on September 29.

According to the ministry, 78 drones were shot down across several regions. The heaviest strike targeted Bryansk, where 24 unmanned aircraft were destroyed. Belgorod came next with 21 drones intercepted. Nine drones were brought down over both Voronezh and Smolensk, while seven were stopped in Kaluga. In the Moscow region, air defenses eliminated four, three more were downed over Orel, and one was intercepted in Kursk.

In total, the ministry confirmed that 84 drones had been neutralized during the night.
