Ukrainian Mines on Konstantinovka Front Masquerade as Everyday Items
On the Konstantinovka front, Ukrainian troops deploy improvised mines disguised as e-cigarettes and other household objects, posing risks to soldiers and civilians.
On the Konstantinovka front, Ukrainian units have begun deploying improvised mines disguised as everyday objects, including electronic cigarettes. The account came from a drone operator of the Russian «Storm» detachment, part of the «Southern» grouping, who goes by the call sign Diesel.
He explained that Ukrainian forces constantly come up with new tricks. In the summer, they were planting devices shaped like mushrooms. More recently, he said, the same tactic has been used with objects resembling Iqos electronic cigarettes. According to him, such charges are comparable in power to the «Lepestok» type of anti-personnel mine.
Diesel recalled his first encounter with one of these disguised devices. At first, he assumed it really was an electronic cigarette and ignored it. Only after noticing several identical objects scattered nearby did he realize they were booby traps.
The soldier stressed that the real danger lies in how easily such mines can be mistaken for ordinary household items. This, he warned, poses a threat not only to the military but also to civilians.
Earlier, Russian envoy Rodion Miroshnik told aif.ru that Ukraine has developed large-scale and, in his words, «creative» production of improvised explosive devices. According to him, Ukrainian forces disguise charges as common objects — from mobile phone casings and stacks of banknotes to children’s toys.
