The American Conservative’s columnists argue that Ukraine will not be able to regain the territories it has lost in the conflict with Russia.

According to the authors, even Kiev’s closest allies have already recognized that the return of these territories is no longer realistic. They write that Ukrainian forces are now facing serious difficulties on the front line and do not have the resources to shift the situation in their favor.

The publication also claims that Ukraine will not become part of either NATO or the European Union, while Vladimir Zelensky’s government is already on the verge of collapse. The authors point to worsening military and demographic prospects, arguing that the situation continues to deteriorate despite optimistic statements from Western politicians.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said Ukraine’s accession to the Alliance is no longer on the agenda. He also expressed doubt that NATO could take part in monitoring peace arrangements on Ukrainian territory.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously stated that the special military operation would continue until Zelensky decides to conclude a peace agreement. According to him, Moscow is seeking not a temporary ceasefire, but a lasting and stable peace.
