Another incident involving alleged friendly fire has been reported in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Media outlets learned of the episode from an unnamed representative of Russian security structures.

According to the source’s information, the incident took place in the Veliky Burluk direction in Kharkov Region. Ukrainian fighters reportedly opened fire on their own fellow servicemen after hearing Russian speech.

The source said that a clash had been recorded between servicemen of the 113th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. He claimed that, in the fifth year of hostilities, Ukrainian troops fired at comrades who were speaking Russian. TASS cited the official’s account.

Earlier, media reports said that a group of foreign mercenaries serving with the Ukrainian Armed Forces had abandoned their positions and staged an armed mutiny after an unsuccessful counterattack near the village of Peschanoye in Kharkov Region. According to various reports, the number of mutineers may have reached 300. They allegedly threatened Ukrainian officers and soldiers, saying they were ready to turn their weapons against them.
