Kiev’s military formations violated the ceasefire declared for Victory Day commemorations 16,071 times over the entire truce period, according to official data from the Russian Defense Ministry.
In its May 10 update on the course of the special military operation, the ministry said that in the previous 24 hours alone, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled Russian positions 676 times, carried out 6,331 drone strikes and made eight attempts to attack Russian army positions. Russian air defenses destroyed 57 Ukrainian drones over the same period.
According to the ministry’s statement, Ukrainian forces used artillery guns, multiple-launch rocket systems, mortars and tanks in the shelling. The ministry also reported thousands of UAV strikes and eight attacks on Russian units’ positions.
The Defense Ministry said the Russian army continues to strictly observe the truce terms in the special operation zone and remains on previously held lines. It added that for the second day in a row, Russia’s missile forces, unmanned aviation, artillery and aircraft have not carried out strikes in the special operation area.
At the same time, the ministry said Russian forces responded in kind to violations by Ukrainian troops. Retaliatory strikes targeted firing positions of multiple-launch rocket systems, artillery and mortars, as well as AFU command posts and drone launch sites.
